PCOS and HIRSUTISM

We are mammals.  We grow hair.  Hair is natural, beautiful, protective and helpful in many ways.  There should be no shame or embarrassment about it.  Sometimes, however, due to heredity, environmental exposure or medical conditions, we may have hair which makes us feel awkward or traumatized, and just wish it would be GONE!

Trauma sensitivity permeates the setting of GONE ELECTROLYSIS, and clients with PCOS, or hirsutism from any other cause, can feel safe and understood.  Understanding the nuances of dealing with hirsutism and PCOS is paramount to reaching your goal successfully and efficiently.

WHAT IS PCOS?

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS, is a condition in women.  Small sacs of fluid form around the edges of the ovaries, called cysts.  Women suffering from PCOS may have elevated levels of male hormones (androgens), which can result in hirsutism.

While some of the symptoms of PCOS are physiologically taxing and painful, the unwanted hair growth from hirsutism can be psychologically devastating.  Unlike other methods, such as Laser Hair Removal Treatments, which may increase the hair growth of people with PCOS, Electrolysis targets the dermal papilla and regenerative stem cells which affects the follicle's ability to regrow hair.

Electrolysis can be of great benefit in treating hirsutism and alleviating some of the emotional distress of PCOS.

WHAT IS HIRSUTISM?

Hirsutism is a condition in women caused by excessive androgens (male hormones), primarily testosterone.  This results in male-like pattern of course, dark hair growth around the mouth and chin, neck, breast and chest, abdomen, buttocks, inner thighs, back, and any other areas where women do not commonly grow hair.

Whether emanating from PCOS, or other reasons, GONE ELECTROLYSIS can help to eliminate hirsutism.
